Trayly help
How can we help?
Quick answers to the questions people ask most — logging meals, restaurant search, goals, Apple Health, notifications, and your data. Still stuck? Email us and a person will help.
Getting started
Set up your profile and log your first meal.
-
How do I start using Trayly?
During onboarding you set your profile and goal, which Trayly uses to calculate your daily calorie and macro targets. From there, open search to find a restaurant or log your first meal. You can change your profile and goal later in Settings. -
Do I need an account?
Yes. An account keeps your meals, weight, and goals together and in sync. You can update your details in Settings and delete your account whenever you want.
Tracking meals
Log what you eat and fix anything that looks off.
-
How do I log a meal?
Pick a dish from a restaurant menu or snap a photo, and Trayly estimates the calories, macros, and ingredients and adds it to your day. You can change the meal type, portion, or any value before saving. -
Can I edit a logged meal?
Yes. Open the meal from your day to adjust its title, portion, meal type, or nutrition values, or delete it entirely. Edits update your daily totals right away. -
Can I log something that isn't on a menu?
Yes. Use a photo, a nutrition label, or a barcode, or describe the dish, and Trayly will estimate the nutrition so you can review and save it.
Restaurant and menu search
Find places near you and understand where the numbers come from.
-
Why can't I find a restaurant?
Restaurant and menu coverage comes from third-party sources and is still growing, so some places may be missing or incomplete. Check the spelling, widen your search radius, and make sure location access is allowed. If a place you expected is missing, email support and we'll look into adding it. -
How are menu nutrition numbers worked out?
Trayly estimates nutrition for a menu dish from its name, description, and typical ingredients. These are estimates rather than the restaurant's official figures, so use them as a guide and adjust if you know the dish differs from the standard version.
Goals and nutrition data
Nutrition numbers in Trayly are estimates from menus, photos, and labels — not lab measurements — so they can vary. Review the values and adjust them before saving, especially for meals you care about tracking accurately.
-
How are my goals used?
Your profile and goal set your daily calorie and macro targets and shape how dishes are ranked — lighter options when you're cutting, higher-protein meals when you're bulking. Update your goal in Settings whenever it changes and your targets adjust with it. -
How accurate are nutrition estimates?
Estimates are built to be quick and useful rather than exact. Because they come from dishes, photos, and labels instead of lab measurements, calories and macros can vary. Review the values and adjust them before saving, especially for meals that matter to your tracking. -
Does Trayly sync with Apple Health?
If you grant permission, Trayly can read activity and weight from Apple Health and write the weight and nutrition you log back to it. You can change or revoke this access at any time in the iOS Health settings.
Account, privacy, and data
Manage your information and understand what's collected.
-
How do I manage my account data?
You can view and update your profile and goals in Settings. Trayly only processes the data needed to run the features you use; the Privacy Policy describes exactly what's collected and why. -
How do I delete my account or data?
You can delete your account from Settings, which removes your account data subject to any legal retention requirements. You can also email support to request access to, or deletion of, your data. -
Can I turn off product analytics?
Yes. You can disable product analytics in the app's settings, which stops usage and telemetry events from being collected for product improvement.
Notifications
Control reminders and updates.
-
How do notifications work?
If you allow notifications, Trayly can send reminders and updates. You control them in the app's notification settings and in iOS Settings, and you can turn off any you don't want. -
I'm not receiving notifications. What can I check?
Make sure notifications are allowed for Trayly in iOS Settings, that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them, and that reminders are enabled in the app. Reopening the app once usually refreshes the connection.
Troubleshooting
Get things back on track when something looks wrong.
-
What should I do if syncing looks stale?
Check your internet connection, then pull to refresh or reopen the app so it can sync again. If a recent meal or weight entry is missing, give it a moment to catch up — most sync gaps clear on their own once you're back online. -
The app isn't behaving as expected. What helps?
Make sure you're on the latest version, then fully close and reopen the app. If something still looks wrong, email support with your iPhone model, iOS version, and a short description so we can help.
Contact support
Reach a person when you need one.
